Project 1: Green-Info Shelter-Exploring the Environment Poetics
In a group of 2, students are required to design a small space within an open area applying ideas of environmental sustainability in architectural design. The structure should provide both a shelter and suitable environment for users.

The site we got is the empty space right beside CoDA, Taylor's University and we are required to design a shelter within 3m x 3m x 3m. The main purpose of this shelter is to provide info on events and activities in CODA & SABD. Also, it acts as a shelter for students to waiting for pick up. After completing this project, I learned to identify and analyze environmental qualities and contextual needs of a site. Besides, my partner and I managed to recall back the environmental sustainable knowledge we gained in Building Science 1 and ESD and applied it on our design. Lastly, we employed particular material and construction technique when designing the shelter.

Project 2: Nature Appreciation Center (NAC)
For this project, students need to design a simple public building with some complexity that includes the complexity of site topography and vegetation, socio-cultural events, and variety of strategies for sustainable design. The objectives of this project is to develop awareness of environmental sustainability in architectural design.

The site of this NAC is located in Pulau Banding, Gerik, Perak. The Island sits amidst the 130 million year-old Belum Rainforest. The requirement of this NAC is to have 2-3 storeys within  800sq m. After carrying out the site analysis, students are required to produce a conceptual model of this NAC as the first proposal. Moving on, students need to develop interior poetics by taking into account interaction between environment and architectural space/form.

After completing this project, I found out how to design and create architectural spaces with consideration of environmental poetics in relation to the basic natural context and existing built context which impact on users’ experiences. Also, I managed to apply environmental sustainability in design. While designing this NAC, I combined the environmental needs, the users' experiences within a simple building design. Lastly, I managed to produce drawings in 2D and 3D based on a clustered spatial typology.
